Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Plant Operations Director to lead and oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production performance aligned with organizational objectives. This leadership role will be responsible for driving operational excellence across production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive manufacturing leadership experience, a strong track record in operational performance improvement, and the ability to lead large cross-functional teams in complex plant environments.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Lead and oversee all plant operations including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain activities.
- Ensure efficient and effective execution of manufacturing processes while meeting operational and business objectives.
- Drive productivity, quality, delivery, and cost performance across the facility.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to optimize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve plant performance.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational accountability and results.
- Implement best practices and process improvements across manufacturing operations.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee quality management programs to ensure products meet customer and regulatory standards.
- Drive compliance with company policies, industry standards, and operational procedures.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams across manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and supply chain functions.
- Build high-performing teams through coaching, succession planning, and talent development.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Planning & Business Partnership
- Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic planning, capacity expansion, capital investment, and operational growth initiatives.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term operational planning.
- Provide regular reporting and insights on plant performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations, including senior leadership responsibilities.
- Proven experience leading large-scale manufacturing facilities and cross-functional operational teams.
- Strong background in operational excellence, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP ERP or similar enterprise platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to drive productivity, quality, cost, and delivery improvements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent operational excellence credentials.
- Experience in highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading large-scale transformation or modernization initiatives.
- Engineering, Operations Management, or related degree preferred.
