Oracle GL & Accounting Hub Consultant
About the role
Role Overview:
The Oracle GL & Accounting Hub Consultant is responsible for leading the design, configuration, and implementation of Oracle Cloud General Ledger and Accounting Hub solutions. This role involves translating business requirements into scalable financial system designs, driving integrations and data migration, and ensuring accurate financial reporting and controls. The consultant works closely with business and technical stakeholders to support end-to-end ERP implementations and ongoing system optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead requirements workshops and translate business needs into scalable Oracle Cloud GL and Accounting Hub designs.
• Configure GL: chart of accounts design, ledgers and legal entities, calendar, currencies, secondary/translation ledgers, allocations, revaluations, journal processing, intercompany, and period close.
• Configure Accounting Hub/SLA: event classes, accounting methods, journal entry rules, description rules, mapping sets, account rules, and supporting references for Oracle and non-Oracle sources.
• Design and build integrations to bring external source transactions into FAH (via spreadsheets, file-based data import, REST/SOAP APIs, and/or Oracle Integration Cloud); define data validation and error handling processes.
• Drive data migration strategy: opening balances, historical journals, COA mappings, data cleansing, and reconciliation.
• Set up reporting and analytics: Financial Reporting Studio, Account Monitor/Inspector, Smart View, OTBI, and custom reports; define KPIs and management reporting.
• Define security and controls: roles, segregation of duties, approvals/workflows, auditability, and SOX/ICFR considerations.
• Orchestrate testing cycles (CRP, SIT, UAT), defect management, and performance validation; create detailed functional design documents and configuration workbooks.
• Collaborate with technical teams on RICEW objects and with upstream/downstream systems
• Provide production support, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement recommendations.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Financials (Fusion) focusing on General Ledger and Subledger Accounting/Accounting Hub.
• At least two full lifecycle Oracle Cloud ERP implementations in GL and FAH/SLA (design through post-go-live support).
• Strong functional accounting knowledge, financial close, consolidations hand-offs, and intercompany processes.
• Proven experience configuring COA, ledgers, allocations/revaluations, period close, and Accounting Hub rules (JERS/JERs, mapping sets, supporting references).
• Experience integrating external source systems into FAH via FBDI, ADFdi, REST/SOAP, or Oracle Integration Cloud; familiarity with data validation and reconciliation controls.
• Proficiency with reporting tools: Financial Reporting Studio, OTBI, Smart View; ability to define and deliver management and statutory reporting.
• Strong documentation, workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
