About the role

Senior Salesforce Consultant

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (possible 3-month CTH) Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Work Mode: Hybrid

Job Summary Our client is looking for a Senior Salesforce Consultant to bring domain, technical, and architectural depth to a capability assessment for a large enterprise. You'll examine how Salesforce is used across customer engagement, service, commerce, and data functions. You'll measure the value it delivers, how well it fits the business, and where cost and risk lie. Working within a multi-disciplinary consulting team, you'll lead interview-driven discovery, analyze architecture, licensing, and operations, and turn your findings into evidence-based recommendations and a prioritized roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map Salesforce products to the business capabilities they support, including communications, personalization, service, commerce, analytics, and integration.
  • Assess capability maturity and effectiveness, and pinpoint overlaps, gaps, and underused features.
  • Review capability ownership, roles, governance, and operating model alignment, along with team skills, capacity, and enablement needs.
  • Assess the current-state architecture across Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, Service Cloud, B2B Commerce, analytics tools, and integration middleware.
  • Evaluate org and data model design, scalability, multilingual support, and reporting limits, and document architecture, data flows, and integration patterns.
  • Identify technical debt and legacy constraints, and recommend migration and modernization paths.
  • Analyze licensing and consumption-based pricing against allocation, identify cost drivers and savings opportunities, and recommend cost visibility and FinOps controls.
  • Review how business value and attribution are measured, test the evidence behind reported outcomes, and separate platform-driven results from contested or weakly supported ones.
  • Assess measurement and analytics approaches, including cross-channel reporting and dashboards.
  • Review case management design, queues, SLAs, reporting, and support workflows across channels and user groups.
  • Review integration patterns and data flows, including identity, consent, and data-sharing with the data platform and customer data layers.
  • Evaluate the vendor partnership model, including roadmap alignment, enablement, and advisory support.
  • Support stakeholder interviews and contribute to target-state recommendations, a prioritized roadmap, and clear, evidence-based deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years in Salesforce consulting and technical roles, including 3+ years in large enterprise environments.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud.
  • Working knowledge of Service Cloud and Commerce across legacy and modern architectures.
  • A proven track record in Salesforce architecture reviews, technical debt assessments, or licensing optimization.
  • Experience assessing business capabilities and operating models for enterprise platforms.
  • A strong grasp of Salesforce consumption-based licensing, including credits, contacts, API, and data volumes.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with cloud data warehouses, including Snowflake or Databricks patterns and data modeling.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI) and of attribution and measurement approaches.
  • Governance experience covering licensing and consumption analysis, FinOps practices, and consent and PII handling.
  • Relevant Salesforce certifications, such as Application or Technical Architect, Marketing Cloud Consultant, Data Cloud Consultant, or Service Cloud Consultant.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to turn technical findings into executive-level insights as well as detailed guidance for platform teams.
  • Comfort with ambiguous, interview-led discovery, and the ability to build a defensible, objective view from partial or outdated evidence.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary consulting teams on tight timelines.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with personalization, retail media, or loyalty use cases.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, identity and consent platforms, and other marketing technology.
  • Experience with Tableau and Marketing Cloud Intelligence.
  • Experience with multilingual deployments.
  • FinOps or cloud cost governance experience.
  • A background in the retail consumer sector.
