Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Canada Level: Senior Director
Job Summary
We are seeking a high-touch, self-motivated, sales-driven Senior Director with 15+ years of utilities industry or management consulting experience and a record of selling Smart Meter and Smart Grid solutions and consulting services.
You will own growth of our Smart Meter and Smart Grid consulting business across Canada: building client relationships, identifying and closing new opportunities, and expanding existing accounts. Existing offerings and frameworks are in place, and a large part of the role is scaling them. You will also lead the consulting teams that deliver the work and stay accountable for delivery quality and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the sales strategy, pipeline, and revenue targets for Smart Meter and Smart Grid consulting in Utilities across Canada.
- Identify, qualify, pursue, and close new business, including proposals, RFP responses, and contract negotiation.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with utility executives, regulators, and industry partners; expand existing accounts.
- Sell and deliver Smart Grid and Utilities transformation consulting projects.
- Influence offering development and go-to-market strategy for existing and new offerings.
- Work with internal business lines to create joint ownership, targets, and execution plans on multi-business-line pursuits and projects.
- Lead consulting teams and oversee project delivery and budget.
- Support marketing and thought leadership: publications, industry round tables, conference speaking.
- Develop team members' careers in sales and delivery.
Required Skills
- Proven track record selling consulting or solutions in Utilities, with strong Smart Meter/Grid domain knowledge, especially AMI.
- Highly valued: ADMS, DERMS, Asset Management, and/or GIS experience.
- Experience working with leading Smart Meter and Grid vendors such as Itron, L&G, Sensus, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Siemens Energy, ABB, ESRI, etc.
- Experience leading Smart Grid and utilities strategy and consulting engagements.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ambition to grow the business.
- Experience developing capability assessments, business cases, use cases, and transformation roadmaps to support sales pursuits.
- Experience developing rate case filings and presenting to regulators.
- Understanding of industry trends and current challenges.
- Strong executive presence and presentation skills, able to summarize into key business impacts.
