About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking Intermediate (5-9 years) and Senior (10+ years) Build Managers to support software build, release, and configuration management for Government of Canada projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in build automation, source code management, branching strategies, release management, and CI/CD processes within secure enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage software builds, branching strategies, merge conflicts, and release processes.
- Maintain automated build and testing environments.
- Create and maintain release notes for users and support teams.
- Develop automation scripts using Java, Groovy, Bash, or Python .
- Support engineering teams by troubleshooting build issues and validating software releases.
- Manage test data using Oracle, MySQL, or Solr databases.
- Utilize build and source control tools such as Git, GitLab, Ant, and SourceTree .
- Support virtualized test environments using VMware .
Required Skills & Experience
- Intermediate: 5-9 years | Senior: 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong experience with: Build and release management
- Branching, merge conflict resolution, and source code management
- Git, GitLab, Ant, and SourceTree
- Automated build and testing environments
- Oracle, MySQL, or Solr databases
- Java, Groovy, Bash, or Python scripting
- VMware virtualization
- Iterative/Agile software development methodologies
Experience supporting secure Government or highly regulated environments is highly preferred.
Mandatory: Active Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance .
