Senior Azure cloud & Platform Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Azure Platform Engineer to design and build a modern enterprise-grade Azure platform from the ground up. This is a greenfield engineering role for someone who enjoys starting with an empty Azure environment, making architectural decisions, writing Infrastructure as Code, building CI/CD pipelines, implementing security and governance controls, and creating a scalable platform that development teams can use to deliver applications safely and efficiently.

Required Experience

• 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps or related engineering roles
• 5+ years of strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience
• Demonstrated experience building an Azure environment or landing zone from the ground up
• Strong experience with Azure networking, identity, security, governance and infrastructure services
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform and/or Bicep
• Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise DevSecOps practices
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, Key Vault and Azure Policy
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights and centralized observability
• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, private connectivity and zero-trust principles
• Experience supporting containerized and modern application workloads on Azure
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python or similar
• Comfortable operating independently in a greenfield environment with limited existing infrastructure or standards

Preferred Experience

• Experience designing Azure enterprise-scale landing zones
• Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service, Container Apps and container registries
• Experience with API Management, Front Door, Application Gateway and private networking architectures
• Experience implementing policy-as-code and automated compliance controls
• Experience working in highly regulated industries such as insurance or financial services
• Experience establishing cloud platforms for greenfield digital products or custom-built applications
• Experience with agentic engineering or AI-assisted software delivery
• Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or DevOps Engineer Expert

What We Are Looking For

• This is not primarily an operations or cloud administration role. We are looking for an engineer who can build the platform itself.
• The ideal candidate is comfortable starting with an empty Azure tenant, making sound architectural decisions, writing the infrastructure code, building the pipelines, implementing the security controls and leaving behind a scalable platform that development teams can use to deliver applications safely and quickly.
