Project Manager
Location: Vancouver, B.C. Duration: 12 Months
Objective
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver medium-complexity projects involving multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be responsible for project planning, execution, risk management, budget oversight, and stakeholder coordination to ensure successful delivery within defined scope, timelines, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project charters, project plans, schedules, budgets, and delivery milestones.
- Manage project scope, timelines, costs, quality, resources, communications, and risks.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams comprising business stakeholders, technical professionals, management personnel, and external vendors.
- Coordinate stakeholders across business functions and organisations to align project objectives, deliverables, and responsibilities.
- Prepare feasibility studies, business cases, and project approval documentation.
- Assess and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
- Evaluate the impact of proposed changes on costs, schedules, resources, deliverables, and related workstreams.
- Facilitate project meetings, stakeholder discussions, and issue-resolution sessions.
- Maintain meeting minutes, document decisions, and track action items to ensure timely follow-up.
- Monitor project progress and coordinate resources to ensure delivery within agreed scope, timelines, and budget.
- Prepare and present project updates, reports, and supporting documentation using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Coordinate technology transitions involving hardware, software, and online payment or transaction systems.
- Manage integrations between enterprise systems, third‑party vendors, and internal technical teams.
- Oversee testing cycles, certification activities, and production cutovers for system changes.
- Ensure operational readiness, user access setup, and training for business teams.
- Support compliance activities and documentation for audits or regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant professional qualifications in accounting, finance, or management consulting may be considered as alternatives.
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience within the last 7 years in one or more project management disciplines.
- Experience managing at least 3 projects, each lasting 8 months or longer .
- At least 3 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning, risk management, change control, budget management, and resource coordination.
- Experience preparing project charters, project plans, feasibility studies, business cases, and project approval documentation.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, meeting facilitation, and issue-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and other relevant project management tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to manage discussions involving stakeholders with diverse perspectives.
- Experience managing projects in regulated environments (e.g., government, financial services, utilities).
- Experience with system migrations, payment systems, or transaction‑processing platforms (generic wording).
- Experience coordinating multiple vendors across technical and business domains.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience in the banking, financial services, or credit card industry.
- Experience facilitating virtual meetings and managing discussions involving multiple stakeholder groups.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
- Experience managing projects involving multiple organisations, business units, and complex stakeholder dependencies.
- Experience with POS hardware, payment gateways, or financial reporting systems.
- Experience supporting compliance or audit readiness (PCI, SOX, or similar).
