DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer - Patching Automation & Orchestration
Location: Toronto, ON - Hybrid Duration: 10 Weeks
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design and implementation of automated infrastructure patching and orchestration solutions .
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in patching automation and orchestration , along with the ability to assess current-state environments, collaborate directly with clients, design end-to-end solutions, and develop a strategic roadmap for automation and operational improvement.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior architects and client stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure patch management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the client's current infrastructure patching and management processes and identify gaps and opportunities for automation.
- Design and architect end-to-end patching orchestration and automation solutions .
- Define standardized processes for patch deployment, scheduling, validation, rollback, and compliance.
- Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop an actionable roadmap for patching automation and infrastructure modernization .
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, security, reliability, and compliance through automation.
- Work alongside senior architects to validate solution architecture and implementation approaches.
- Support the implementation and delivery of automated infrastructure management capabilities.
- Document architecture, processes, workflows, recommendations, and future-state designs.
- Communicate technical recommendations and roadmap clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure patching orchestration and automation - mandatory.
- Proven ability to design patching processes and automation workflows .
- Experience architecting end-to-end infrastructure automation solutions.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure operations, patch management, compliance, and security.
- Experience working directly with clients and senior technical stakeholders.
- Ability to develop roadmaps, solution designs, and implementation strategies .
- Strong communication, documentation, and consulting skills.
Ideal Candidate
A hands-on DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer or Automation Architect who can move beyond day-to-day patching and take ownership of the process design, solution architecture, automation strategy, and roadmap for enterprise infrastructure patch management.
